Our project is piloting in training centres and workplaces competence-based European Certificates in Basic Skills covering 6 domains: Citizenship, Communication, ICT, Interpersonal Skills, Learning to Learn and Numeracy.

We are seeking endorsement for the Certificates from the qualifications-awarding bodies of EU member states, will provide validation of the Certificates on-line in a number of European languages, and in due course will set up an enduring framework to ensure the continuing delivery of the Certificates. We have 9 partners from 8 countries.

The EUCEBS project has developed:

• competence definitions for basic skills in the six domains
• an e-portfolio for demonstration of competences
• online tests
• a qualified EUCEBS Assessor Award
